Join the MagicJack Chat!

MagicJack used to have a public chatroom, but they recently removed it. Follow these instructions to join the community chat!

edit c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts and insert the lines:

  • 63.209.28.41 www.magicjack.com
  • 65.110.6.50 magicjack.com

(The first entry allows you to get to the real MagicJack site, and the second lets you get into the chat. The underlying chat software checks referrers, so we add these entries to spoof the referrers.)

flush your dns cache by running:
ipconfig /flushdns

Now just join the chat: http://magicjack.com/chat/

Dont make these changes anymore. Magicjacks web servers have changed so the IP's arent routed to the right site anymore. I could give you the correct IP but no one uses the chat program anymore anyway so dont bother or else you wont be able to get to magicjack website.

I got my Magicjack about a month ago and the voice quality and all has been good, but I am running into a problem where the banner ads on the "softphone" have eventually stopped running and I get a message something like "not enough resources to continue the requested service"...

I can't open the Magicjack softphone nor can I access the Internet at this point.

Any help would be appreciated???

After spending AT LEAST 20+ hours with a "Senior Tech", the only way my MJ+ will work is thru the computer. Does anyone have any suggestions.

yes,get a phone line splitter & place it in the back of your MJ then plug in your phone line plus plug in your phone system such a a 3-4 phone vtech phone system & presto!

ps of course you'll still need a computer usb port to plug the other end into.
